It was my last hour with the Hadza of Tanzania, and this beautiful #couple just stopped for a second what they were doing… Could eating like our ancestors make us healthier? Check out the “Evolution of Diet” story this month in National Geographic! Great text by Ann Gibbons. For the FULL IMAGE SERIES, go to @paleyphoto. Hadza are full time hunter-gatherer - they do not practice agriculture, herd animals or even store any food. When they get up early morning, there is nothing to eat in camp. They just head out in the savannah and feed from nature. It’s a #lifestyle we all had thousands of years ago. The Hadza have been living in this area for approximately 40.000 years and have left no impact on their environment. #Africa #food #latergram #evolutionofdiet #paleodiet #huntergatherer @thephotosociety @natgeocreative” via @PhotoRepost_app
By @paleyphoto “Photo by @paleyphoto (Matthieu Paley) - Dido is amazing at spearfishing, and he does it in slim jeans… classy! Bajau have been a nomadic, seafaring people for most of their history. They live on the Sulu Sea, spreading over the Philippines, Malaysia (state of Sabah), Indonesia and apparently even parts of Brunei. Part three of my @natgeo story on the #Evolution of #diet - how we are what we ate - coming out soon. #latergram #evolutionofdiet #Malaysia @thephotosociety @natgeocreative” via @PhotoRepost_app

Before the match, the wrestler dressed in an outfit called “Zodog”, traditionally circles around his trainer a few times, eyes closed, his arms spread like an eagle. I was amazed at how people in rural Crete can just head out into nature and identify “horta”, wild #greens - as many as 40 different types. Later, Vangelio made delicious Kalitsounia : small pies filled with these super healthy wild herbs. Next time you go for a walk in the park, have an eye out, you might be stepping on wild fenugreek, orrel, hartwort, chicory, wild carrot, nettle, mallow, borage, chickweed or parsley! Even clover is delicious to add to a #salad : its sourness can replace lemon juice. A bit of knowledge will definitely add spice to your life… I am in #Greece looking at the #Mediterranean Diet, for part 5 of my @natgeo story on the Evolution of diet - how we are what we ate - coming out in September. #food #latergram #evolutionofdiet @thephotosociety @natgeocreative” via @PhotoRepost_app
